Bollington Well Dressing

Bollington Well Dressing

This week I have attended events regarding the Bollington Well Dressing. Firstly, on Thursday evening I went to the Cricket Pavillion at The Recreation Centre to help the amazing volunteers who have brought these brilliant sketches to life.

I added Camomile flower heads to the clay board displaying the Battle of Hastings 1066. It was very addictive and I met some very lovely people. When the Mayor arrived, I was already stuck in and he enjoyed embellishing to the 'Winnie The Pooh' board.

I also used petals to create a fire effect on the Great Fire of London board.

On Saturday, I attended the Festival Opening of The Well Dressing. The pupils of Dean Valley Primary School danced for the occasion, despite the heavy rain! One of the Well Dressing Volunteers, gave a speech of thanks, to everyone who had helped. Mr Mayor, Councillor Allan Williams, gave a speech about how much effort everyone had put into this community event. All in all, it has been a fantastic experience that I would like to partake in next year!
