New Flight Simulator for Bollington Air Cadets

New Flight Simulator for Bollington Air Cadets

Thanks to some generous donations, fantastic fundraising by the Civilian Committee and hard work from our Treasurer claiming back Gift Aid, 236 (Bollington) Squadron ATC now has a brand new Flight Simulator!

Flying is a big part of being an Air Cadet and in recent years the Squadron has struggled to give our cadets flying experiences due to unfavourable weather conditions at RAF Woodvale on the majority of the occasions when our cadets were scheduled to fly. As we didn't want our cadets to miss out we did the next best thing and bought our own realistic flight simulator and, after saving hard, have just been able to upgrade it smile emoticon

The new Flight Simulator will complement and supplement the flying experience, enabling us to teach the cadets the basics before they go on to fly in a real Grob Tutor and ensuring the cadets get the maximum benefit and enjoyment possible from their air experience flight.

Thanks again to Mr Ross McNeill for loaning the Squadron a real (but made safe) ejector seat from a Sea Vixen fighter jet which just adds to the cadets experience when using the Simulator.
