Propeller from a Maurice Farman Shorthorn biplane donated to Bollington Squadron

Huge thanks to 8 Air Experience Flight who kindly donated a genuine propeller from a Maurice Farman Shorthorn biplane to 236 (Bollington) Squadron.

The Maurice Farman Shorthorn biplane was flown by the Royal Flying Corps and used as a reconnaissance and light bomber during the early part of World War I, later being relegated to training duties. The Maurice Farman Shorthorn was also the aircraft in which Biggles, Captain W.E. Johns' fictional character, first took to the air ...in "Biggles Learns To Fly". Note the propeller is actually at the rear of the aircraft!

The propeller has now been installed in pride of place in the Squadron's Parade Room.

Thanks to Flight Lieutenant Price, Flight Lieutenant Chris Thirtle and 8 AEF for the best Christmas present ever!
